It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shaun Morrison, who left this world on February 19, 2023 at the age of 68. Shaun was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Shaun was born in 1954 and was one of seven children of Patricia Elizabeth Morrison and Donald John Morrison. Shaun called Vancouver, Maple Ridge, and Victoria home at various points in his life. While residing in Victoria in his retirement he had picked up running and dragon boating as hobbies in addition to his extensive knowledge of cinema, television and sports.
Shaun had an extensive career as a bus driver, spending more than 30 years with the Coast Mountain Bus Company. He was respected for his work ethic and dedication to his family. Shaun's kindness and good humor made him a joy to be around, and he had a way of making everyone feel welcome and appreciated.
Shaun is survived by his two children, Daniel and Matthew. Shaun was a devoted and loving father who always had the best interests of his children in mind. Shaun is also survived by his six siblings: John, Maureen (Dick), Donald (Cathy), Tom, Terry, and Kevin (Shalon), as well as his former wife Kristina. He was a loving and supportive brother who cherished his family.
Shaun was unfortunately diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease around the time of his retirement. Despite his diagnosis Shaun always endeavored to maintain a positive attitude and to stay active. He strove to deal with his condition in a productive and healthy manner and never blamed his condition for an impact on his life. His perseverance in difficult circumstances was admirable.
Shaun's sudden passing has left a void in the lives of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. We take comfort in knowing that he is at peace now and reunited with loved ones who have passed before him.
Rest in peace, Shaun, and know that you will always be loved and remembered.
