Shirley grew up in Shirley BC, attending a small, one room school house then moving on to Vic High. She met James (Jim) while working at Naden during the war. Shirley and Jim married April 2nd, 1948 and had 4 children (Dawn, Shari, Clifford and Scott). They lived in Victoria until Jim retired, when they moved to Chemainus, then later Mill Bay. After Jim died (Nov 21, 2013) Shirley moved into the Victorian on Feltham, until passing away peacefully in her sleep, at the Royal Jubilee hospital on May 12th, 2025.
Shirley volunteered much of her time at the Anglican church in Colwood and then later in Chemainus; donated to many different charities; and loved looking after her grandchildren (every day is a good day at Grandma’s).
Shirley will be missed by her family and those who knew her.
Family service will be held at a later date.
