My beloved mother, Yvonne Patricia Dacey, 76, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Jan 4, 2025.
42 years ago Mom married the love of her life, Richard Dacey, whom together they have built an incredible life of love and laughter.
Mom found comfort and joy being at her home or mine where we shared a bond that can never be broken. There she loved and is loved by my family: Daughter Alaine Polinsky, Son-in-Law Todd Polinsky, Grandson Justin Polinsky, Grandson Bryce Polinsky (Danica), Grandson Tyler Rickman, Grandson Bradley Rickman (Jenelle) Great Grandson Jaycob Rickman.
All of her siblings will greatly miss their oldest sister whom they have shared a lifetime of precious memories. Joan Michalchuk (Peter), Susan Jickling (Dave), David Mills (Ida), Douglas Mills (Susan), Raymond Mills (Ellie), Donald Mills (Lori), Marilynn Norbury (Kevin), Trevor Mills (Tanya) along with so many nieces and nephews.
Although she had lost contact with her son, his family also has a piece of her heart and will be greatly missed by all. Son Stephen Williams (Eddie), Granddaughter Chantell Hulbert (Mags), Great Grandson Karl, Granddaughter Hailey Williams (Michael) and Great Grandson Jaxon.
Mom is blessed to have so many more family members that she loved dearly, there are too many to list.
While Victoria was home to Mom, she has created many long lasting relationships both at home and traveling. After dedicating over 30 years of service to the Ministry of Education you would find Mom and Dad on a beach in Mexico, Grand trip to Europe, multiple cruises or relaxing in Arizona with friends.
She was a member of the Sooke Lioness Club for several years and most recently (the past 20yrs) Mom enjoyed her time with friends at the Juan de Fuca 55+ Activity Centre, specifically quilting.
My Mom has dedicated her life to ensuring that her family is taken care of and has supported with raising her grandchildren to volunteering, wherever you find her children/grandchildren you will find Mom. We have so many fond memories to carry in our hearts.
Wrapped in the most beautiful quilt mom has now joined her Mother Madeline Mills and Father Gordon Mills for along awaited hug in Heaven.
