

Alvin Edwin Machart, 84, of Victoria passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016. He was born October 28, 1931 in Shiner to the late Albert John and Lillie Mary Michalec Machart. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Alvin was a Shiner Beer distributor. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the American Legion. Alvin was happiest when spending time with his family. He loved gardening, music, watching Astros baseball and shooting pool. His pride and joy was his four legged companion, Lily. Alvin was a charter member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Gladys Wenske Machart; daughters, Diana Matula (Edward), Brenda Hanselka (Don), Marilyn Davis (Donny) and Melissa Peyton (Tim), all of Victoria; sisters, Barbara Wagner of Victoria and Olive Millican of Frisco; brother, Stevie Machart (Helen) of Shiner; grandchildren, Jennifer, Monica, Amanda, Lara, Lisa, Justin, Lana, Nathan, Stacey, Travis, Kolby and Kameron; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Eunice Bohuslav and his grandson, Austin Davis.
Visitation will begin at 7 pm Friday, June 24, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church followed by a Rosary at 7:30 pm.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 pm Saturday, June 25, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Justin Saski, Travis Davis, Kolby Peyton, Kameron Peyton, Gary Hons and Brandon Kinsey.
Memorials may be made to Crown Hospice or Holy Family Catholic Church.
