Anton was a devoted husband, father and gramps. He loved his family, especially getting together, laughing and telling stories.
He served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged at an early age to return home to take care of his family.
Anton ran the family’s Exxon Station in Victoria, located on Main Street and Red River, for years. After he retired from the station, he went to work at Atzenhoffer Chevrolet and then on to work at H.B. Zachary where he retired in 1997 to take care of our mom.
He shared his love of working with wood with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. He loved going fishing with his brothers, where they had a special place that they loved to go. Dad had a green thumb and loved working in his garden and tending to his fruit trees. He was a jack of all trades and if you needed something fixed you knew you could go to him and it would be fixed and fixed correctly. He loved watching his grandkids play sports and rodeo.
He will be missed but we know him and mom are together again.
Anton is survived by his children, Donna Larson (Randy) of Odem, Marilyn Clark of Fannin, Carolyn Schumann of Victoria, Scott Schumann (Desiree) of Fannin and Denise McCoy (Terry) of Granbury; brother, Jimmy Schumann (Nancy) of Victoria; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
