Carolyn Jean Franklin McMillan

She accepted and professed her love of Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age and united with Minnehulla Baptist Church in Goliad, Texas. She remained a faithful member until her death.

Her elementary school years were spent in Goliad, Texas. She graduated from Daule High School in Cuero, Texas in 1962. She was the valedictorian of her high school class. She attended Victoria College, where she obtained a license to nurse. She worked at Goliad Manor in Goliad, Texas as an LVN and charge nurse for 32 years until her retirement.

She was united in holy matrimony to Joe Carl McMillan on July 15, 1965. To this union, 2 children were born. Among her most significant attributes were her intelligence, sweet spirit and beautiful smile as well as her motivational and compassionate nature. She was a supportive and loyal person and an inspiration. Her greatest joys in life were her husband, children & grandchild, family and close friends. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother and grandmother, a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, niece, in-law (sister, mother, daughter) cousin and friend.

She entered into eternal rest on November 10, 2013.

She leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband, Joe Carl McMillan, of Goliad, Texas; 2 Children: Carmen Elise English of Justin, Texas & Cam Jared McMillan (Ellen) of Lancaster, Texas. 1 Grandchild: Cam Jared “Sonny” McMillan II; Mother, Elizabeth Lott of Victoria, Texas; 1 sister: Margaret Fillmore of Victoria, Texas; 9 brothers: Stanley Franklin of Victoria, Texas; William Franklin (Debbie) of Victoria, Texas; Carl Franklin of San Antonio, Texas; Kerry Donovan Franklin of Victoria, Texas; Dwayne Franklin (Tommie) of Victoria, Texas; Marvin Franklin (Pat) of Victoria, Texas; Mike Franklin of San Antonio, Texas; Gerald Franklin of Victoria, Texas; John Franklin of Victoria, Texas, and a host of loving nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by Willie and Otha Lee Bess and a brother, Steve “Bubba” Franklin.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Minniehulla Baptist Church, 3572 US HWY 59 N, Goliad, Texas 77963. Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11 AM at Minniehulla Baptist Church in Goliad with burial immediately following at Sapenter Cemetery with Dr. Ira Antoine, Jr. officiating.
