She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Clifford Kunkel and a sister, Mary Schmalstieg Dillon of Odem, TX.
Darlene is preceded in death by a sister, Sue Henderson, her birth father, Alvin Edmund Banse, her mother, Lillie Teltschik Schmalstieg and her adopted father, Edward Neal Schmalstieg, who raised her from the age of two after her birth father passed away.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 3-4 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 10 AM at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Marilyn Roeder officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3 PM at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Poth, TX.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Dillon, Ross Dillon, Tommy Henderson, Jr., Edward Heller, Paul Kunkel, Curby Ohnheiser, Vestine Nesloney and Norman Teltschik.
