
Dickie Lee Barber Revera, 84, of Tivoli passed away on June 21, 2012. She was born on February 4, 1928 in Victoria, Texas to the late J.C. Barber and Viola Emison Barber. Dickie Lee attended and graduated from Austwell High School in 1945. She attended and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Texas in Micro Paleontology and a Masters Degree in Micro Biology. In 1948 she married V.E. (Gene) Revera. She worked for the National Marine Fisheries in Galveston, Texas with a specialty in Ridley Turtles and Dolphins.
“Mis” Dickie, as she was known by all, was an active member of the Tivoli Presbyterian Church. She actively participated with the annual Vacation Bible School of the Community of Churches, Wednesday Bible Study Group and a giving member of herself to the two communities of Austwell and Tivoli. She was a rancher, having a compassionate heart for animal husbandry. She will be remembered for her compassionate heart for all who were less fortunate, giving freely of her time and care.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Gene Chopelas, husband George, of Alpine, Texas; grandsons, Christopher and Jason, granddaughter, Adriene Brown and husband Cody; great grandchildren, Wyatt, John, and Dustin Chopelas, Brady & Ava Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband V.E. (Gene ) Revera.
