Emmit Long

Emmit Ray Long, 84, of Goliad, passed away June 28, 2023. Emmit was born in Poteet, TX to the late Emmit C. Long and Alice Gorley Owens. Emmit served his county in the United States Navy and was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church.

Emmit is survived by his wife, Susan Long; daughters, Abilene Long (Michaela Gaucci) of Goliad, Peggy Derby (Doug) of Selma; grandchildren, Matthew Long, Tabitha Senter (Keenan), Emmit Patterson (fiance’, Sierra Chalmers) and great-grandchildren, Claire, Chloe, Carly and Colton Senter and Freya Patterson.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 10-11 AM at Rocky Creek Baptist Church with a funeral service to immediately follow at 11 AM.

Graveside services will be Friday, July 7, 2023 at 1 PM at Rutledge Cemetery in Poteet, TX.

Pallbearers are Doug Derby, Cody Wallace, Gary Laskowski, Ronnie Zimmerman, Ben Zimmerman and Emmit Patterson.

Memorial donations may be made to Rocky Creek Baptist Church.
