

Ernest J. Stuart, 88, of Inez passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015, with his family by his side. He was born December 24, 1926, to Walter and Rosie Kosub Stuart in Cuero, TX. Ernest, or Mr. E as he was known, worked in the oilfield for 70 years. He was currently working for Texas Downhole Tools. He was a lifelong member of the VFW, serving in the Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was also a charter member of the Inez Volunteer Fire Department and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Dr. Linda Stuart , Teresa (John) Moorman, Nancy (Robert Hairell) Witte all of Inez; sons, Ernie Scott (Patti) Stuart of Needville, Pat (Dodie) Stuart of El Toro, Roger (Dee) Stuart of Inez; fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Frankie Jentry Stuart in 1998; brother, Archie Stuart and sister, Bernice Dew.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 5:30-7 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Inez with a rosary to be recited at 7 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jason Stuart, Walter Stuart, John Wes Stuart, Shane Stuart, Nicholas Moorman, J. T. Moorman, Danny Witte, Jr., Ryan Hairell and Reed Hairell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alfred Warzecha, Pat Miori, Charlie Provenzano, Brenda Nash, Raymond Tate, Gary Edward, Scott Yariger and Johnnie and Gerald Ressman.
Dad was the Charter president of the Inez Volunteer Fire Department. It was his request that memorials be made to the Inez Fire Department, P.O. Box 427, Inez, TX 77968 to help continue providing services for the welfare of the community. Memorials may also be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, P.O. Box 337, Inez, TX 77968 where he was an active member and was the mastermind behind the building of many Vacation Bible School themed sets.
