

Ethel Adickes Heller of Inez passed away peacefully at home on November 18, 2014 and has now entered her heavenly home after bravely battling cancer for the past year. She was born in Mission Valley, Texas, May 23, 1924, to Adolph Gustav Adickes and Adeline Reinecke Adickes. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Mission Valley. She married her best friend's brother, Herbert, on November 23, 1947. They were married for 49 years until Herbert's passing in 1997.
Ethel was a homemaker, hard-working farm wife and devoted Christian all her life. She loved gardening, flowers and butterflies and always made time to play games with her family and friends. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, a Sunday school leader and teacher, Church Womens Group Treasurer for years, Victoria County 4-H Leader and a member and volunteer in many other community organizations. Ethel had many close friends and family, who continued to visit her often and show their love for her.
She is survived by her son, Richard Heller (Linda) of Inez, son, Aaron Heller (Debbie) of Mission, daughter, Carol Beittenmiller (Gordie) of Houston, and daughter-in-law Shelly Heller Jackson (Roy) of Austin; 13 grandchildren: Kelley Heller-Vela (Juan), Brett Heller, Erica Heller, Johnathan Martin (Karyn), Keith Martin (Diana), Amanda Martin Schroeder (Brad), Ryan Heller (Kristen), Reese, Grant and Taylar Heller, Nikki, Katie and Josh Beittenmiller and 10 great grandchildren: Kobe and Maddox Heller, Aiden and Addyson Vela; Samantha Fleming and Krystin Martin, Daniel Martin, Baylee, Kyle and Addyson Schroeder; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Amarylis Tschirhart of Victoria, Marguerite Halk Heller of Victoria and Ernestine Segerstrom Heller of Archer City, TX and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ethel is preceded in death by her husband Herbert Victor Heller, her son, Dennis R. Heller of Inez, and three sisters Elsie Adickes, Lillie Adickes Heller and Delphine Adickes Schmidt. The family would like to say a special thanks to all our dear family and friends and other caregivers that have been a great support.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014, from 6-8 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.
A celebration of Ethel's life and visitation with family will continue at 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Inez, prior to the funeral service. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Steve Estrem officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Mission Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Brett Heller, Reese Heller, Grant Heller, Johnathan Martin, Keith Martin, Ryan Heller and Joshua Beittenmiller.
Honorary Pallbearers will be granddaughters Kelley Heller-Vela, Erica Heller, Amanda Martin Schroeder, Taylar Heller, Nikki and Katie Beittenmiller.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 204 Church Street, P.O. Box 309, Inez, TX 77968.
