Florine Ann Bielstien Cornelius

She was born February 12, 1929 in Victoria, Texas and was the daughter of Mary Angela Keclik and Floyd William Bielstien.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Simon Casper Cornelius, daughter Yvette Jircik and husband Jan of Houston TX., daughter Andre Cornelius of New York, son Simon Cornelius Jr. and wife Shelly of Tomball TX., and daughter Amanda Parker and husband Tim of Friendswood TX. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren that loved their “Mina”.

She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her mother and mother-in-law. Florine was very devoted to the Sisters of Incarnate Word and the Blessed Sacrament community.

Our Mom was salutatorian of Nazareth Academy Class of 1946 and graduated from Victoria Junior College in 1948. She served on the Board of Directors at Incarnated Word College and was Chairman of the State Republican Executive Committee. She was a Charter Member of the Court of Six Flags, member of Bronte Club, served on the Board of Directors for the Youth Home of Victoria and served as President of the PTA at Nazareth Academy.

Pallbearers are William Daniel Cornelius III, Tim Parker, Jan Jircik, Jeff Lehnert, Stacey Cook, Stephen S. Perry III and Mac McLeod.

Honorary Pallbearers are Mom’s wonderful lifelong friends and all her extended caregivers.

A Rosary will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 7:00 pm, Father Celestino Say officiating.

Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 1:00 pm. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum. Friends are invited to a reception following the services at Victoria Country Club, 14 Spring Creek Rd, Victoria, Texas.

Donations may be sent to MD Anderson Cancer Treatment Center.
