Gerald "Jerry" Peterson

Gerald “Jerry” Peterson, 85, of Victoria, passed away surrounded by his loving family, on October 4, 2023. Jerry was born July 3, 1938 in Plainview, NE to the late Nola Benson and Gordon Peterson. Jerry proudly served his county in the United States Army. He was also a member of Christ the Victor Lutheran Church.

Jerry grew up on the family farm in Plainview, NE and that began his love for all things corn. Jerry received his bachelor degree in accounting from The University of Nebraska, “Go Cornhuskers”. He was an avid golfer and a true Cornhusker fan. He also supplied his family with many pieces of furniture that he would make in his spare time.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Karen Mountjoy Peterson; daughter, Megan Bennett (Kenny) of Victoria; son, Graham Peterson (Ramona) of Arkansas; sister, Carol Casteel (Roger) of Lincoln, NE and his pride and joy, grandchildren, Alyssa Bennett and Nathan Bennett.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 10-11 AM at Christ the Victor Lutheran Church with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11 AM.

Memorial donations may be made in Jerry’s name to Christ the Victor Lutheran Church or Hospice of South Texas.
