

Harvey M. Haas, 89 of Victoria passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. He was born May 12, 1928 in Hallettsville, TX to Joe Haas and Veronika Mikus Haas. Harvey was an accountant, working for many years at Groce Wearden and Lack’s Furniture. After retirement he was a longtime volunteer at Citizens Medical Center. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus and he proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict.
Harvey was an avid gardener and enjoyed listening to polka music and loved to travel along with eating his favorite desserts.
He is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Bill) Dobies of Spring, Carol (Stan) Polak of Houston, Cathy (David) Dierlam of Victoria; son, Michael (Alesia) Haas of San Antonio; five grandchildren Allyson (Dan) Rizzo, Andrea (Michael) Alicea, Morgan (Brad) Lane, Kaley (Jonathan) Carbonaro and Christopher Polak and six great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Haas was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Morris Haas on June 23, 2016.
Visitation will be on Sunday November 5, 2017 from 4-6 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel with a rosary to follow at 6 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 PM on Monday, November 6, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Stan Polak, Bill Dobies, David Dierlam, Randy Haas, Harvey Appelt and Frank Nevlud.
