

Helen Elizabeth Cavin Keller, age 83, passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 in Shreveport, Louisiana following a brief illness. She was born October 22, 1927 in Hutchins, Texas to the late Carmen Cecilia and William J. Cavin.
She spent most of her adult life in Victoria and Cuero. She was married to R.L. (Bo) Keller on August 4th, 1946, nearly 65 years. She spent her life as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. As a breast cancer survivor, she started and worked with the Victoria Chapter of the Reach to Recovery Organization helping countless women deal with breast cancer and its effects. Her love of quilting led her to being one of the co-founders of the Quilter's Guild in Cuero. She was a longtime member of First English Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband RL Keller of Shreveport, La; children: Sandy and Kerry Litzenberg of College Station, Tx; Merry Keller and Alan Keparutis of Shreveport, La; and Lane and Phyllis Keller of Victoria, Tx; grandchildren: Kaye Dees Randle, Bo Dees, Amy Duncan Fennell, Sarah Duncan Parker, Scott Duncan, Missy Keller, Victoria Keller, Heather Keller and Jacob Keller; nine great-grandchildren; her close niece, Lola Marie Reynolds; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday, August 5, 2011 at Colonial Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Colonial Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Muehlbrad officiating. Private entombment will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
Her children sum up her life as a woman who could conquer all obstacles life put in her path. She was an incredibly creative and talented woman.
