

Henry Charles (Paw-Paw) Martin, 88 of Telferner, died May 21, 2010. Visitation scheduled for May 26 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Services will be held Thursday, May 27th at 10:00 AM at First English Lutheran Church with Rev. Jerry Wirtley officiating. Henry was a member of First English Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council.
Henry was born on January 3, 1922 in Victoria County, Tx, the son of Edwin A. and Hattie (Waitschies) Martin.
Henry served in the U.S Army from 1942-45 during W.W. II in the Pacific Theater. On September 7, 1942, he married Josephine Louise Holub in Victoria, Tx. After the war, Henry worked in the oil field and in 1962 purchased and ran Telferner Grocery with his wife until 1987.
Henry was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He loved his family, hunting, fishing and playing dominoes. Another passion was following the Houston Astros and enjoying a good barbecue with family and friends.
Henry is survived by his daughters, Gayle (Jerry) Miskovsky of Victoria, and Janis (Gus) Trojcak of Inez and son Kyle (Kim) Martin of Larkspur, Co.; grandchildren, Tracey Trojcak, Jason (Amy) Miskovsky, Nicole Trojcak, Matthew Miskovsky, Cpl. Joshua (Jessica) Martin, Jennifer Martin, Jared Martin and Jacob Martin. In addition, he is survived by three great-grandchildren; Dominic Martin, Loralei Martin and Kate Miskovsky.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Honorary Pallbearers will be nephews Louis Holub and Gary Paramski.
Pallbearers will consist of Henry’s eight grandchildren.
Memorials can be made in Henry’s name to the First English Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.
