Herbert W Jenkins, born on January 14, 1944, in Angleton, Texas to Doris Capps and Joseph Jenkins passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 81. Herb was a resident of Inez, Texas, at the time of his passing.
A hard-working and loyal individual, Herbert was a dedicated craftsman who excelled as a carpenter, creating custom homes. His resilience and devotion were evident not only in his professional life but also in his personal life. His love for his family and friends met no bounds, and he was always there when you needed him. He had a passion for fishing, gardening, an avid love for all of Gods creatures and just connecting with nature any chance he got. He was an amazing father and even more amazing Papa.
Herbert was a devoted husband to Ruth Jenkins, who preceded him in death on May 6, 2012. He is survived by his children, Herbert Wayne Jenkins, Jr., Glenda Ruckle, and Misty Hartfield. He also leaves behind his brother, Danny Jenkins, his six grandchildren Bobbie Jo, Keriann, Niki, Marissa, Donovan and Jacob; eight great-grandchildren and many other loving family and friends.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, his daughter Kerrie Pedroza, his son Bobby Glenn Jenkins, his sisters Darlene Shannon, Wanda Tompkins and Mary Holmes, and his brother Albert Jenkins.
Herbert was a true salt of the earth man whose legacy of hard work and compassion will be remembered by all who knew him. In his memory, the family suggests considering a memorial to the ASPCA for the adoption and well-being of animals.
Visitation will be held at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, located at 3304 Mockingbird Ln, Victoria, TX 77904, on January 7, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor David Murff officiating. Entombment will be at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
