

James Barlow Sparkman, 77, of Victoria passed away January 28, 2012. He was born February 14, 1934, in Bloomington to the late John Homer and Katie Loucille Parker Sparkman. He was a consultant in the oil and gas industry for many years and was a member of the Rocky Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Smith Sparkman of Victoria; daughters, Mary Anne Uresti and husband, Steven, and Jamie Janell Rodgers and husband, Lynn, of Victoria, and Shari Granger of Galveston; son, Lynn Ray Sparkman Sr. and wife, Laura, of Inez; sister, Wanda Darleen Williams of Victoria; brothers, Bavy Glynn Sparkman of Telferner, Joseph Bee Sparkman of Victoria and Bennie Lloyd Sparkman of New Braunfels; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren on the way.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Homer Sparkman.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 31, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. .
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 1, 2012, from the Rosewood Funeral Chapels with Rev. Speck Phillips officiating. The Eulogy will be read by Jeff Williams. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe Rosales, Ron Shifflett, Rudy Miller, Joey Miller, Dave Majefski, Wade Sparkman and Hoby Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Hope and James Taylor.
