Jimmy was a long-time member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, and he would regularly lector and sing at masses. He loved his church and served both as a lector and a cantor. He loved singing with our mother, but even more, he loved listening to her sing.
Jimmy was the last surviving alumni of his St. Joseph High School 1946 graduating class. He also attended Victoria College. Jimmy worked as an announcer for KCTI out of Gonzales, TX, and was a manager for KVIC Radio for 19 years. He then began his career in 1968 in the banking industry and retired from Victoria Bank & Trust as an Executive VP in December 1988.
He was the voice of time and temperature. You could call anytime to hear him say the time and temperature.
Jimmy and Peggy enjoyed traveling to Colorado for many years for their love of seeing the mountains. He loved college football, especially the Texas Longhorns.
Jimmy is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 76 years, Peggy Brzozowski Traber; children, Kathy Dunham (Rusty) of San Marcos, Beth Schultz (Russell) of San Marcos, Vanessa Hersey (James) of Hallettsville, Marc Traber (Debbie) of Victoria; grandchildren, Tamara Traber, Taryn Rodriguez, Laura Hueske (Roger), Michael Traber (Meredith), Eric Dunham, Megan Ruxton (Adam), Brian Prescott Hersey (Hayley) Sara Hull (Jason) and his great-grandchildren, Draven Rodriguez, Rhiannon Rodriguez, Gage Rodriguez, Brooks Traber, Landry Traber, Hayes Traber, Leighton Hueske, Ella Ruxton, Finn Ruxton, Lila Ruxton, Gavin Hull, Maverick Hull, Sebastian Hull and daughter-in-law, Judy Traber.
