Joel Martinez Jr.

Joel Martinez, Jr., 23 of Victoria, passed away early Friday, January 21, 2022. He was born in Victoria, Texas on October 1, 1998 at Citizens Medical Center to Norma Campbell and Joel Martinez. Joel attended East High and later went on to attend Liberty Academy.

Joel was a jack-of-all-trades, but took pride in working construction and quickly moved up the ladder. He was devoted to family and always showed up. He was an amazing son, brother, father, cousin, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his mother, Norma Campbell; father, Joel Martinez; Angeline Valdez, the mother of his son, Jeremiah Martinez and his daughter, Marcelina Martinez; his sisters, Julia Spurk, Kristy Garza, Christine Garza, Angel Gomez, Monica Martinez and Kaylee Becker; his brothers, Alex Becker, Jeremiah Becker and Joshua Becker.

His wonderful spirit, love, and life will be celebrated at his viewing on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 11 am to 2:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home. Ceremonial pallbearers will be Xavier Valdez, Gabriel Valdez, Jr., Quinton Delgado, Michael Hernandez, Derious Sanchez and Bennie Sanchez.
