

John lived his life as a devoted Catholic and passed his faith to his family. John was a devoted, loving husband for 58 years and is survived by his wife, Evelyn, and his children, Deborah Eisman Herman (Callender) of New Orleans and John III (Terry) of Sugarland, Texas, and was a loving grandfather to Jeanne , Kristen , Callender Jr, and Benjamin Herman. John is survived by his brother, Alan Eisman (Gladys), as well as many nieces and nephews. His faith, devotion to family and quiet, hard working way was an inspiration to them all.
He was born September 13, 1931, in Victoria to the late John Edward Eisman Sr. and Katherine Scherlen.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Gladys Eisman Gillig.
John was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, and Victoria College, served in the Air Force, retired from Union Carbide having worked in both the Seadrift, Texas and Taft, Louisiana plants, a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, the Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed his ranch at El Toro.
Viewing will be held beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 22 at Rosewood Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 23 at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral. The Rosary will be recited at 11:30 followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council.
Pallbearers are Kenneth, William, Thomas Eisman, Paul Gwosdz, Callender Herman,Jr. and Benjamin Herman.
Honorary pallbearers are Jeanne Herman, Kristen Herman and Steven Motal.
