John L. Schaar II, 35, of Victoria passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012. He was born November 9, 1976, in El Paso to Paula Riley Newell of Victoria and John L. Schaar Sr. of Colorado. John was a very loving man with a huge heart and an even bigger smile. He loved his family and became an instant friend with anyone he came in contact with. He never knew the meaning of the word “no,” always ready to lend a helping hand to everyone. As much as Lisa was the love of his life, Paris, his chihuahua took a very close second. John graduated from Industrial High School in 1996. Being an athlete at heart he was involved in football, track and power lifting. An avid fisherman, there were rarely times he and Jacob came back without dinner. John was employed by Stallion Oilfield Services and was a member of Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Church. A great husband, a wonderful father and everyone’s best friend, John was loved by all. He will be forever in our hearts.
In addition to his parents, Paula and Pat Newell and his father, John Schaar, John is survived by his wife, Lisa Carabajal Schaar; step-daughter, Natalie Garcia; step-sons, Mark Garcia and his wife, Melissa and Eric Garcia; sisters, Sandra Speck and husband John T. and Amy Alvarez and husband, Robert, all of Victoria; brother, Brandon Newell and wife, Sara, of Virginia; brother-in-law, Rudy Carabajal of Victoria; grandchildren, Mark Garcia, Diego Garcia, Cyrus Garcia, Marcello Garcia and Alyssa Garcia; nieces, Madison Speck, Kylie Alvarez, Sierra Newell and Ayla Newell; nephew, Kai Newell.
