I heard about VMS when ALLC was in the early stages back in 97-98, never met John in person but spoke on the phone pretty regularly; back then if I could have purchased everything my mini- shops needed from John, Jean and Paul Williams I would have. Their level of service was then and still is on the top shelf of the railcar industry when it comes to calibration equipment and having a knowledgeable source of information for industry needs. It's been a while since I spoke to John the last time, you will be missed... We'll meet you later John, it was and still is a pleasure working with the folks at VMS..... 

Some time ago; two very special people came into my life- John and Jean Tomanec. Little did I know that they would become some of my dearest friends. I  met both of them at Citizens Healthplex ; thru a class I taught and later training both of them in Pilates. They were always a ray of sunshine in my life and always encouraged and supported me. John was particularly stubborn and very determined. I remember his sense of humor and gregarious laugh. He also had a very soft , caring side; especially towards people he loved and cared about. He would help anyone if needed. He also loved the outdoors, his dogs and most of all - Jean.  He had a zest for life and always wanted to learn more about so many things. I will miss him, his presence and strength. Rest in peace, my dear friend.



John and I went to college together.  He, Mark Stirl,  Andy  Stryk, and I had classes together and we had lots of fun.  I miss those days. Prayers for John's family.

One could not ask for a finer neighbor. We'll surely miss the across-the-fence chats. 

Jean, I am so very sorry for your loss.   You are and will be in my prayers.   


I've known John and Jean for roughly 25 years, great folks, straight shooters, and great people. John treated folks with respect,  honesty, and had a ton of integrity. He will be missed in this world.
Jean, I am truly at a loss of words for your loss but will assure you that I've nothing but respect for y'all and will miss your husband. 
Can't forget Paul as he was there. Y'all are in my heart and mind, love y'all. 

John was so much more than just a valued customer, he was a special friend above all.  We will surely miss the times we spent visiting.  He was an example of how we should all treat each other.  
He was the best of the best.
