

He was born to Frank Elmer Hamlin and Mary Lela Britton Hamlin on October 13, 1938 in Freeport, Texas.
Johnny grew up in Palacios, Texas and graduated with the Palacios Sharks Class of 1958.
He began a career in welding in 1970 which took him to many different states across the U.S.
He spent his leisure time watching sports and collecting baseball cards and Coca Cola memorabilia.
He was a friend to everyone and known as “Popaw” to his family and close friends. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jimmie Frank Hamlin; sister, Ruby Jean Willis and wife, Nancy Hamlin.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Rains; grandchildren, Traylor and Cecilee; nieces, Wanda, Judy, Britton;
nephew, David; and his little buddy, Gizmo.
