

Larry James McClanahan, age 66, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013. He was born on December 25, 1946, in Yoakum, Texas to James Muriel and Myrleen Luerrsen McClanahan. He went to Victoria public schools, graduated from Victoria High School in 1965 and attended Victoria College. He served in the United States Air Force for four years and completed one tour of duty in Vietnam. Larry worked as a service technician in and around Victoria until his retirement.
Larry's father preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Teresita Gonzales McClanahan; son, Jonathan Paul McClanahan of Kingwood, Texas; stepdaughter, Tomasa Montez of Bacliff, Texas; stepson, Israel David Montez, Jr. of Victoria, Texas and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Myrleen, formerly of Victoria, Texas, now residing in Houston, Texas; brother, David McClanahan of Houston, Texas; sister Linda Fangue of Bush, Louisiana, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 28th at Rosewood Funeral Chapel in Victoria, Texas. A Rosary will follow the visitation. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29th at Holy Family Catholic Church in Victoria with Rev. Bob Knippenberg officiating. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Yoakum, Texas, Rev. Matthew Huehlefeld officiating.
