Leslie C. Fuhrman, 89, of Inez passed away Monday, January 15, 2018. He was born July 29, 1928 in Inez to the late Emil B. and Selma R. Mueller Fuhrman. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and was retired from the Army with the rank of Major. Les was employed by Union Carbide in Seadrift for 29 years. He was very active in the Independent Cattlemen’s Association; a former president of the Victoria County School Board, a member of the Military Order of World Wars and an active member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church for almost 60 years. He was happiest ranching, working on the family ranch near Inez and watching the wildlife. Les always looked forward to a good game of dominoes.
Survivors include his sons, Stephen Fuhrman (Eugenie) and Leslie Don Fuhrman (Elena) ; grandchildren, David Andrew Fuhrman and Alicia Suzanne Fuhrman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Haugen Fuhrman; his son, David Wayne Fuhrman; his sisters, Evelyn Ideus and Joyce Kriewald; and his brother, Melton Fuhrman.
Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Monday, January 22, 2018 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels with Rev. John Waak officiating. Burial with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Fuhrman, Alicia Fuhrman, Gary Mueller, Brenda Miles, Glenn Kriewald, Becca Taylor and Johanna Quintana.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 4102 N. Ben Jordan, Victoria, Texas, 77901.
