Linda Faye (Balfanz) Buzek, 77, of Inez passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Though Linda endured Alzheimer’s disease she maintained her fun loving personality, kindness, compassion, and love for family even up until the very end. She was born in Victoria on November 17, 1947 to the late Charlie and Hattie (Singer) Balfanz.
Linda attended William A. Wood from first through eighth grade and graduated from Victoria High School in 1966 with a perfect attendance record. In 1979, she married the love of her life, Billy Buzek. Together they had one son, Christopher Allen, and remained married for 30 years until his passing in 2009. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother cherished by her family and many friends. Linda was a lifelong member of First English Lutheran Church faithfully attending services and Sunday school over the years.
Upon graduation Linda worked for Wacker’s Five and Dime and then for Timberlake Motors/Swain-Kovar Ford dealership as a bookkeeper for over a decade. She began at First Victoria National bank in the note department where she earned Employee of the Year and many yearly perfect attendance awards. After over 30 years of service she retired from the bank in 2014. Linda managed to maintain a pristine home while being a devoted farmer’s wife and mother who always made sure her guys were taken care of. She was admired for her home cooking, baking, and famous sweet tea. She loved being outdoors tending to her garden, meticulously mowing her lawn, and taking care of the various family pets. She was dedicated to canning and preserving her harvest which she has passed down to the next generation. She also enjoyed going on fishing, camping, and hunting trips. Her greatest joy, however, was her granddaughter, Caroline.
Linda is survived by her son, Christopher Buzek (Samantha), granddaughter, Caroline Faye, sisters Karen May (Rodney) and Janette White (Larry); many nieces and nephews, and numerous loving relatives and friends.
