

Lonnie was born February 6, 1940, in Big Spring, to the late Logan Wood Prichard and Isla Thigpen Prichard. He was Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Victory. Lonnie was married to Carolyn Ganem and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. His early years of education were in Pecos, and he moved to Victoria while in middle school. Lonnie was in the first graduating class of Victoria High School in 1958. He attended and graduated from Victoria College and went to work for DuPont in June of 1961. Lonnie retired in 2002 after 41 years of service. Over the years, he coached Victoria Little League and Teenage Baseball. He supported Victoria High School baseball and The Texas High School and College Rodeo Association. He was a member of The Victoria Horsemen’s Club, DuPont Sportsman Club and DuPont Dance Club. He enjoyed following the Victoriadores Dance and Drill Team, the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association and Magnolia Jr. High and Magnolia West Swim Team in Magnolia, Texas. He was an avid gardener and loved to fish and hunt with family and friends. His wife and grandchildren were the love and light of his life.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Carolyn Prichard; sons, Buddy (Lonnie W. Prichard, Jr.) of Victoria, Brian Scott Prichard and Rebecca Ann of Magnolia; grandchildren, Matthew Scott Prichard and Lindsey Ann Prichard of Victoria, Hunter Scott Prichard and Logan Christopher Prichard of Magnolia, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jennifer Sue Prichard, his parents, Logan and Isla Prichard, brother, Logan Eugene Prichard and sister, Patricia Ann Prichard.
A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, June 25, 2010 at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. A memorial service celebrating the life of Lonnie Prichard will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the Rosewood Funeral Chapel.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, Matthew, Lindsey, Hunter and Logan Prichard, nephew, David Brogger, Leonard Tupa, Victoria High School Class of 1958, Rosebud Lunch Bunch and Beta Sigma Phi Laureate Alpha Omicron members and spouses.
Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Associaton of the American Cancer Society.
