Michael DeWayne Johnson

Michael was a loving and devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend and left imprints in the hearts of many whose path he crossed during his time on Earth. He will always be remembered for his love of playing his guitar, his infectious laugh, his warm hugs, and his selfless heart. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, writing poetry, photography, painting, animals, foreign films and westerns, two-stepping, and spending time with those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Allen Johnson. He is survived by his parents, Melvin Howard Johnson and Margaret Jean Johnson (Henning); sister, Monica Lynn Hayes (Johnson) and her husband, David; five children, Ashley Rochelle Johnson, Alea Michelle Johnson, Aaron Mark Johnson, Aerik Jacob Johnson, and Kyle Grant Johnson; grandchildren, Izaiah Mark Johnson, Malachi Chance Johnson, Hailey Nicole Johnson, and Gwenevere Sofia Barron; niece, Deshay Lynn Melton; and great-niece, Taylah Shay.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Rosewood Funeral Chapel in Victoria, Texas. A funeral will be held the following day, Friday, September 24, 2021, at 10:00 A.M at Rosewood Funeral Chapel in Victoria, Texas.
