She was born July 18, 1939 to Bryan H. and Bessie Hosek Mutchler and spent her youth surrounded by wonderful family and friends on the family farm in the Wood Hi Community.
A devoted Christian throughout her life, Rebecca lived her faith through kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She found joy in caring for others and believed deeply in the importance of family, loyalty, and service.
In 1957 Rebecca married Clyde E. Fischer with whom she shared four children, much love, and many adventures. Together they built a very successful custom knife business, Fischer Custom Knives. She later married Charles R. Land, whom she loved dearly until his passing in 2022. Through all seasons of life, she remained strong, faithful, and deeply devoted to those she loved.
She was a talented decorator with a natural eye for beauty, transforming even simple spaces into serene, welcoming havens. Her love of gardening was another expression of her patience and creativity. She took great pride in nurturing plants and watching them flourish, much like the family she cherished so dearly.
In 2007, Rebecca received the miracle of a dual heart and liver transplant, a gift that granted her nearly 19 additional years of life. She honored that blessing by making every moment count and touching countless lives with her unwavering kindness.
Rebecca was a cherished and loving mother to her children, Shelby Fischer (Debbie), Sammy Fischer (Sherri) Carolyn Knox (Randy), and Suzanne Stone (Ernest). Rebecca was loved dearly by her grandchildren Sam McCutcheon (Christine), Ryan Austin (Sarah), Morgan Foreman (Hunter), Clayton Fischer (Hillary), Colton Fischer, Alex Fischer (Jessica), Luke Stone (Amber), and Mark Stone. Her precious great-grandchildren Taylor and Emma McCutcheon, Clyde Foreman, Jayke and Sawyer Fischer, and Carlee, Hayden, Corbin, Hudson and Carson Fischer, were her shining stars.
Rebecca was a quintessential Southern Lady—poised, intelligent, strong, perceptive, and endlessly capable. With a beautiful smile and determined spirit, she balanced grace with grit, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, creative talents, steadfast faith, and the warmth she brought into every room. She leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply and honor her memory by carrying forward the love, values, faith, and resilience she so beautifully embodied.
