

Ruby Mae Riedel Rogers, 85, of Victoria left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 17, 2012. She was born April 24, 1926 in Vernon, TX to the late Gideon Zeno and Lydia Hoffman Riedel.
Mrs. Rogers received her Bachelors of Arts in Home Arts at the University of Denver, Bachelors of Science in Home Economics at North Texas State University, Masters of Education from the University of Houston and was a school teacher for 22 years with V.I.S.D. where she primarily taught Home Economics. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, gardening, and ballroom dancing. She enjoyed serving the needs of others, volunteering in Victoria Adult Literacy Council and sewing for nursing home residents, for Trinity Episcopal School and for Mary's Circle with the Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Anita J. Rogers of Humble, TX; sons, Arthur Rogers and Dr. Richard Rogers both of Victoria; sister, Mae Belle Belew of Vernon, TX; grandchildren Rusty Rogers, Kelly Rogers, Michael Rogers, Joel Brown, and Kevin Brown, seven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and 2 nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Hamill, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jarrell V. Sharp officiating.
