Stephen E. Sutton, Sr., 59, danced into Heaven on Monday, August 6, 2012 after a courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He was born November 29, 1952, to the late J.B. and Adelle Sutton in Ganado, Texas. He was a devoted husband, Daddy, Pawpaw, and friend to many. He had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh. He loved to barbeque brisket for family and friends, going to the rodeo, and ministering to all who would listen. He was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan and enjoyed football Saturdays with his children shouting “HUSKER POWER!” He worked for the Victoria Independent School District as an Educational Diagnostician. He was also the former Pastor for the First Baptist Church in Inez and later founded the Crossroads Country Cowboy Church. He was genuine, caring, and selfless. He began his journey with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) in 2007 and spent countless hours gathering research and speaking to others in a support group for PSP. Even in his hardest days, he witnessed to others and shared words of encouragement. “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31.
