Virginia was born on March 10, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas, to Albert Jim Kirchner and Sarah Pearl Kirchner. She was raised in Victoria, where she built a life rooted in faith and family.
She was a devoted wife to her husband, Larry Casdorph, and a loving mother to her children, Lottie Tomko and Fred Postert. Virginia’s greatest joy was her family, and she treasured her role as grandmother to eight grandchildren and great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren.
Virginia’s home was a place of warmth and care. She loved Jesus deeply and faithfully taught her children and grandchildren to love Him as well, living out her faith through her words and actions.
She will be fondly remembered for many things, especially the time she spent side by side with her family—particularly in the kitchen—baking, teaching, and loving in the quiet moments that shape a life. She was especially famous for her banana pudding, chocolate chip cookies, and Mississippi River Bottom Pie, which were shared generously and enjoyed by all. Those simple, shared moments became lasting memories and a reflection of her nurturing spirit.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Jim Kirchner and Sarah Pearl Kirchner, and her first husband, Fred Postert Sr.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Casdorph; her children, Lottie Tomko and Fred Postert Jr.; her brothers, Lee Kirchner and Albert Charles Kirchner; her sisters, Shirley Parker and Janie Putnam; along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many extended family members who will miss her dearly.
Virginia’s life was a testament to strong faith, steadfast love, and a hope anchored in Christ. Her family rejoices in the promise that she is now fully healed and rejoicing in the presence of her Savior.
A Celebration of Life service will be held later
