Harold Wayne Linam, 90, of Victoria, passed away comfortably with his three children at his side on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in Victoria. He was born on June 9, 1935 in Victoria, Texas, the fourth of four children born to Aaron and Gladys Pridgen Linam.
Wayne retired from a career as a Medical Technologist on the last day of 1997 after working for 37 and a half years at medical labs in the area, including those in DeTar Hospital, Citizens Medical Center, Diagnostic Laboratories, and Cuero Community Hospital. Prior to his medical career, Wayne served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany as part of a tank brigade during the Cold War.
Wayne was a member of First Baptist Church of Victoria. He loved his family and was always proud of his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, his pecan trees, fishing, cards, yard games with family, bar-b-queing, and making and eating homemade ice cream. Later in life he became a regular at the bingo hall, where he especially enjoyed the horse race pull tabs.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Charlene Brown Linam (whom he loved dearly and has greatly missed the last 17 years). He wrote as part of his last wishes to include in his obituary that he could not have asked for a better, more loving, and positive person – wife, mother, grandmother, cook, and friend. Wayne was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Charlotte Rich and Jessie Lynn Whitfield.
Wayne is survived by his son, Gordon Linam and wife Lee Ann of Wimberley; daughters, Rhonda Harlow and husband Roddy of Fair Oaks Ranch, and Lynda Parma and husband Kenneth of Victoria; brother, Otis Linam (Victoria); grandchildren, Kimberly Harlow-Forkner and husband Andrew (Austin), Karen Myers (San Angelo), Abigail Bradbury and husband Patrick (New Braunfels), and Franklin Linam and wife Stephanie (Altamont, NY); great-grandchildren, Kalvin Myers, Kinsley Myers, Brooks Forkner, and Knox Forkner. In addition, Wayne leaves behind numerous extended family and friends, all of whom will cherish his memory.
