

William “Bill” Groll, 89, of Victoria, passed away January 22, 2017. Bill was born March 8, 1927 in Victoria to the late John Conrad and Helena Groll. Bill worked for Mobil Oil as a purchasing manager for 38 years (including extended assignments in Calgary, Canada and Norway; plus engaged for two years on the Saudi Arabian pipeline). Bill was a graduate of SMU, Dallas and a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Victoria.
Upon retirement he was able to fulfill his life-long dream of returning home to Victoria to become a cattle rancher.
Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce Groll; sons, Jim Groll of Atlanta, GA, John Groll of Dallas; daughter, Lanette Groll of Victoria and 3 grandsons, Evan Groll, Sam Epps and Jeff Epps.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Smith and brothers, Charles and Elmo Groll.
A visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 10:00 -11:00 am at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 am.
