

Zoe Ella (Harrington) Brusenhan, 75, passed away in the early morning of December 18, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was born in Freer, Texas on October 17, 1936 to David and Dellon Harrington. In her early years, her family moved to Pearsall, Texas where she attended school. She graduated from Southwest Texas State Teachers College (Texas State University) in San Marcos. After graduation, she taught elementary school in Alice, Texas where she met her husband, Wayne. Zoe and Wayne were married on April 16, 1960. Shortly thereafter, the couple moved to Victoria.
Zoe was extremely involved in her church having served in various leadership positions of the United Methodist Women. She dearly loved sewing, quilting, needlework and making anything by hand. She was a member of the Victoria Quilt Guild and Victoria First Ladies for a long time. She enjoyed genealogy and was the family historian, preparing numerous scrapbooks and records for all to enjoy. She enjoyed nothing more than family gatherings to visit, talk with young and old, eat good food, and play games.
Zoe is survived by her husband of 51 years, Wayne; sons Keet and wife Sheila of Victoria; and John and wife Sue of Magnolia; grandsons Shane of Victoria and Ross of Magnolia; brother-in-law Jim Brusenhan and wife Sue of Coleman, Texas; brother-in-law Donald Brusenhan of Brownwood, Texas, sister-in-law Mary Harrington of Pearsall, Texas; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Dellon Harrington, and her brother, David Lynn Harrington.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Victoria, with Revs. Jarrell Sharp and Marilyn Roeder officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Shane Brusenhan, Tyler Berger, Bill Pennell, Tucker Pennell, Nick Cadle, Don Angell, Ken Booth, and Louis Kramer. Honorary Pallbearer: Ross Brusenhan.
