

Anselmo Israel Lerma- 85 passed away peacefully at home on October 24th, 2017 due to liver cancer in Victorville, Ca. Anselmo was a hardworking, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. Born on January 14, 1932 in Salineno, Texas, Anselmo was the only boy out of the 6 children born to Anselmo and Lidia Lerma. Growing up Anselmo was known as the ‘ice cream boy” he loved sweets throughout his life and enjoyed those cheese and apple danishes. On Halloween on 1959 Anselmo met Rebeca Cardenas and the two married on February 27, 1960 and had 4 children: Jaime, Henry, Rosanna and Rachel Lerma. Anselmo had 7 grandchildren; Andriana, Chelsey, Andrew, Natalie, Rebekah, Alicia and Floyd and step grandchildren Jeff, Anthony, Samarah, Gretchen, Rachel and Aubrey. As well as 5 great grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Imelda from Texas. He worked as a construction laborer with specialty in jack hammer work while at Penhall Company for over 25 years. He retired in his 50’s and enjoyed spending time in the yard. When he stopped driving he walked and rode the city bus as well as riding his red 3 wheeler bike. Anselmo enjoyed watching baseball, going to the casino and lottery scratchers. He loved working on his yard and always wanted to keep busy. Services for Anselmo will be on November 10th, 2017 at Desert View Memorial at 10:00 a.m; followed by the burial of his ashes next to his wife of over 50 years.
