Bonnie Marlene Ellis (née, Lints), 87, of Apple Valley, California, was born on September 21, 1937, in Carbondale, Illinois. She was summoned to heaven on Monday, January 27, 2025. She was the cherished daughter and youngest of eleven children to the late Thomas J. and Mary C. (Kinder) Lints.
On September 9, 1955, in Pomona, Illinois, Bonnie married the love of her life, Harold Dillard Ellis. Adding to their family, they brought 4 sons and 3 daughters into their blessed union from 1956-1970. Their love story spanned 55 years, serving as a testament to their dedication and devotion, until Dillard’s passing on May 18, 2011.
Prior to their last son being born, the Ellis’s left Illinois to start a new chapter of their lives in California. Bonnie began her relationship with the Lord in 1972. From then, until her heavenly home-going, she devoted her whole life to God. As a God-fearing, bible believing woman, she raised all seven children according to Proverbs 22:6 (Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it) and Acts 2:38 (Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost). She has left this legacy behind knowing her prayers are still being answered. Bonnie became a member of International Pentecostal Church in Bellflower, California. For six years, Pastor (Bishop) Butler was her shepherd and mentor. In 2009, they moved to Apple Valley, California. There is where she found her home for worship and became a member of Victory Apostolic Church under Pastor Tim Smith.
Bonnie will be remembered as a beloved mother, adoring grandmother, and doting great grandmother. Her legacy of her relationship with the lord, her care, compassion, and love will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, and all her siblings.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, John David Ellis, James Alandale Ellis (Stacey), Faye Marlene Tavares (Louis), Jacqueline Kay Castro (John), Cheryl Lynne Gonzalez (Daniel), Harold Dee Ellis (Sandra), and Darren Dean Ellis (Melissa); her 30 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Bonnie had many other relatives and friends that loved her and will miss her dearly. Her passion, resilience, strength and love will be admired and will live on by many.
