My sympathy to Carol's loved ones. The Ellermans lived in the big house across the street from my family. Mrs. Ellerman was our Girl Scout leader; our last year in Scouting, our troop would meet at their house for breakfast. We busy high school girls had no other free time. 

I remember Carol as being athletic, and I admired her red hair.

Carol is my sister, not “was” as her soul is still looking down on us!

One of three sisters, Susan, Mary, and Carol, just a few years apart, we were best friends, moving every few years from state to state, landing in South Dakota as we neared teenage years.  It was always a well known fact, “don’t mess with the Ellerman girls or you have to deal with all three.“
Carol was a good student, elected both a cheerleader and homecoming princess at Belle Fourche High School where she met her first husband.  Carol had an incredible memory for our past moves and escapades which remained with her throughout her life.

After marriage and being busy raising our families, we no longer lived close to each other, but within our hearts, the knowledge that we had loving sisters always remained in our minds throughout our lives.

Carol was blessed with three wonderful children, Christina, Karalee, and Curtis.  And doubly blessed with her second husband, Tom Burns,  who dedicated his life to making her happy, caring for her in loving diligence, and ensuring her long life.

I will miss my dear sister, but am so thankful that she was my my strong, ethical, honest, caring sister.

We were saddened to hear about Carol. We have so many fond memories of Carol and the family as neighbors and in our youth group, Woodcraft Rangers.   Our sympathies to the family.

Was so sorry to read of Carol's passing.  It has been some years since I last saw her at a class reunion in Belle Fourche.  We were neighbors many years ago and graduated from high school together.
