It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Bapa, Brother, Uncle, and Dear Friend David E. Bagwell “Dave.” Dave passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025 in Riverside, CA with family by his side at the age of 79. Born on February 1, 1945, in Santa Ana, California to Earl Bagwell and Barbara Price. He was the middle son of 7 boys from Earl Bagwell and the oldest son of 5 boys from Barbara Price. He met the love of his life Patricia “Pat” during a SaddleBack Horse Club meeting and before his passing they had just celebrated 61 years of marriage in October. As a young teenager Dave enjoyed being a mechanic and a truck driver which turned into a 55+ year career along with owning his own mechanic business with his wife. Dave and Pat had two beautiful daughters, Barbara “Barb” and Deborah “Deb!” Dave had a love for cars that surpassed anyone else. He always made sure any car he drove was always clean and spotless! In all the years of working on cars you could call him and describe the sounds the vehicle was making or how it was acting and he would diagnose the problem over the phone, car unseen. Dave was known for always being able to talk to anyone about anything for hours on end. He touched the lives of many people and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Dave would say he was a very strong stubborn redneck that God watched over and blessed with a great long gifted life.
Dave will forever be lovingly remembered by his surviving Wife, Patricia; Daughters,Barbara Willman (Don) & Deborah Bagwell; Grandchildren, Andrea Willman (Eric) & Cody Willman (Kayla); Great grandchildren, Paisley & Austin; Brothers, Terry Bagwell (Patti) & Troy Bagwell (Linda); Nephew, Thomas Bagwell (Tashelle) as well as by numerous extended family members and friends. Dave was predeceased by his parents Earl Bagwell & Barbara Price; Brothers; Larry, Barry, & Kelly. He will be remembered for all the laughs and good times he provided to all the lives he encountered.
In honor of Dave, his life will be celebrated at a Celebration of Life event, details below. We request that if you are going to attend that you wear western attire or bright colors as we all know Dave would not want it to be the normal somber black funeral attire. The Celebration of Life will be held on January 21, 2025 at Desert View Memorial. It will begin with a visitation at 11:00 am, followed by a service starting at Noon and then concluded with a Graveside service at 2:00 pm. The family will be having a Reception following the services that afternoon where information and a map will be provided. Please reach out to Andrea (Dave’s Granddaughter) for that information if you’d like to attend the reception, but you can’t make it to the services.
