DiAne Haugen Gillespie, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away surrounded by family. Born in Portland, Oregon on June 13, 1950, she was the second of three daughters born to Ronald “Bud” Haugen and Marjorie Jean Fast Haugen.
From an early age, DiAne possessed a creative spirit and a beautifully expressive voice. She shared her gift of music throughout her life—as a singer, a vocal teacher who nurtured countless students, and an artist whose talent touched everyone who knew her. She released a record in Denmark in 1977 and also was the voice of the villain Dischordia on the Power Rangers. Though she wore many hats with grace, her most cherished and meaningful role was that of mother to her two daughters, AnGela La Hue and Gina DeVore, and “Mor Mor” to her seven grandchildren.
DiAne’s world was immeasurably brightened by her soulmate and husband, Roger Gillespie. Their deep and enduring love spanned decades, and his passing three years ago left a space only he could fill. Today, family and friends take comfort in knowing they are reunited—together again, forever.
She is survived by her daughters, AnGela and Gina; her seven adored grandchildren; and her dear sisters, Terri Agbodike and Suzanne Lopez, who shared a lifetime of memories with her. DiAne’s family and all who loved her will remember her for her compassion, her creativity, her humor, and the fierce, boundless love she carried for those close to her.
Her voice, her warmth, and her presence will be profoundly missed, but her legacy will continue in the hearts of those she touched. A Celebration of Life is being planned for February, 2026.
