We announce the peaceful passing of Emma on April 18, 2025, a woman whose life was shaped by strength, independence, and an uncompromising spirit. Born on May 14, 1936, she lived life on her own terms, with a bold sense of self.

Emma is survived by her five children: Armida, Hector, Julio, Feliciana, and John; eight grandchildren; and four great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away on April 16, 2017, nearly eight years to the day before her own passing.

Emma had a strong version of self that was accompanied by a forceful silence of love and resilience. For those who truly knew her, there was love, understanding, and even admiration—for her strength, compassion, and the unwavering embrace of those in need. Emma's quiet steeliness never left her immune to reaching out to help or embrace a stranger. She could pick out someone in need and provide a temporary family, or a hand during tough times.

Despite her quiet reticence, Emma had a generous heart. After she retired, she volunteered her time at a local soup kitchen, quietly helping those in need. On her many visits to Mexico, she would always pack her bags with clothing, blankets, and household goods to share with extended family and neighbors—never arriving empty-handed, always thinking of others.

She found comfort in her roots, especially during her cherished visits to the family ranch, where time spent with her aunts. This brought her peace and a connection to a family and beginning she never forgot. Her spirit was always Mexicana. She loved and never let go of her bound to Nieves and her siblings and extended family.

Emma leaves behind a life that was simple, honest, and deeply inter personal. Her memory lives on, in the sacrifices she made for her children, extended family and friends. She understood the importance of laughter in family stories, and the enduring imprint of a life lived boldly.

A memorial will be held in her honor. Her family welcomes those who knew Emma to join in remembering her and celebrating her life. The following will occur May 20th 2025. Emma will lie in state at Desert View Funeral Home 11478 Amargosa Rd Victorville CA 92392 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A grave site mass and internment will occur at the same location from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Anyone who wishes to share their personal remembrances is encouraged to do so at this time.

Following this memorial all family and friends are invited to PVs Fresh Grill at 11620 Amargosa Rd Victorville CA 92392 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Here, we will share Emma stories and provide food and refreshments. We look forward to and encourage everyone to join us, to share how Emma touched your life.

Anunciamos el fallecimiento pacífico de Emma el 18 de abril de 2025, una mujer cuya vida estuvo marcada por la fuerza, la independencia y un espíritu intransigente. Nacida el 14 de mayo de 1936, vivió la vida en sus propios términos, con un audaz sentido de sí misma. A Emma le sobreviven sus cinco hijos: Armida, Héctor, Julio, Feliciana y John; ocho nietos; y cuatro bisnietas. Fue precedida en la muerte por su esposo, quien falleció el 16 de abril de 2017, casi ocho años antes de su propio fallecimiento.

Para aquellos que realmente la conocieron, hubo amor, comprensión e incluso admiración, por su fuerza, compasión y el abrazo inquebrantable de los necesitados. La tranquila firmeza de Emma nunca la dejó inmune a tender la mano para ayudar o abrazar a un extraño. Podía elegir a alguien necesitado y proporcionar una familia temporal, o una mano durante los tiempos difíciles.

A pesar de su silenciosa reticencia, Emma tenía un corazón generoso. Después de jubilarse, ofreció su tiempo como voluntaria en un comedor de beneficencia local, ayudando silenciosamente a los necesitados. En sus muchas visitas a México, siempre preparaba sus maletas con ropa, mantas y enseres domésticos para compartir con familiares y vecinos, sin llegar nunca con las manos vacías, siempre pensando en los demás.

Esto le trajo paz y una conexión con una familia y un comienzo que nunca olvidó. Su espíritu siempre fue mexicano. Amaba y nunca soltó su vínculo con Nieves, sus hermanos y su familia extendida.

Emma deja atrás una vida sencilla, honesta y profundamente interpersonal. Su memoria sigue viva, en los sacrificios que hizo por sus hijos, su familia y sus amigos. Comprendió la importancia de la risa en las historias familiares y la huella perdurable de una vida vivida con valentía.

Se llevará a cabo un memorial en su honor. Su familia da la bienvenida a aquellos que conocieron a Emma para que se unan a recordarla y celebrar su vida. Lo siguiente ocurrirá el 20 de mayo de 2025.
