On the evening of May 1, 2017 Gloria Foster passed away peacefully at 3:58 pm of a long illness. She was 80 years old. Gloria Foster, was born in Marshall, Texas on April 24, 1937 to the late Fulton T. and Essie Graves, her sister Louise Graves, Sam Champion (husband), and grandson Brian Louis Champion preceded her in Death. Her family moved to California when she was in her teen years. She married Musician Frank Foster in 1963. Gloria attended East Los Angeles College and Cal State LA. She worked as a barber and as a Deputy Sheriff at the Civil Brand Institute for Women. Gloria received a law degree and worked in Family law. She became the Public Defender Official for the City of San Jose, Calif. and eventually retired from Public Service. She attended Loveland Church in Fontana CA. and had a passion for playing Bingo. She is survived by her children Kerry Champion, Samuel (Sam) Champion, Michael (Mike) Foster and son Robie (Rob) Hoyt. Her grandchildren Airika Champion, Arielle Champion, Aaron Champion, Anthoney Champion, Maxwell Foster and her Siblings Londell Graves and Jonnie Marie Morgan and a number of nephews and nieces.
