In loving memory of Jayven, a cherished son, devoted brother, cousin, boyfriend, nephew, grandson, and loyal friend who left us far too soon. Born and raised in Long Beach, Jayven embraced life with a radiant smile and an infectious spirit that brightened every room he entered. He grew up in a family that adored him, blossoming into a remarkable young man.
He was an avid reader from a young age, finding joy in the pages of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Hunger Games, and Harry Potter. An adventurous soul, he loved spirited games of Monopoly (Pixar edition), exploring the great outdoors, and sharing snowball fights in Big Bear with his family.
A proud graduate of Jordan High School, Jayven earned honors in 2018 before dedicating himself to serving his country in the Army, stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. His commitment to duty reflected his strong character—a hardworking young man who never shied away from responsibility.
Jayven's love for family ran deep. He adored his mother, he was her firstborn, who instilled in him values of respect, love, and compassion, shaping him into the great man he became. He's a part of her. She was always there for him, putting him first in any situation, and continues to do so—his rock and unwavering support. Their bond was unbreakable. He also cherished his little sister, Joselyn, whom he called “Mamas.” His protective nature made him a great male figure in her life, always watching over her and attuned to her needs. Additionally, he shared a profound love for his maternal grandma, “Ama,” who was like a second mother to him. Their impact was so significant that he honored them both with tattoos on his arms.
From a young age, Jayven found joy on the water, fishing with his beloved Uncle Cookie. Who had a great impact on his life. As well as his cousin Emily. They bonded over fishing; they would have banter and fake fights, yet through all of it, they still cared for each other deeply. Later in life, Jayven gained two more siblings and a father figure, Chris, Lynnette, and Fernando. As siblings, they made joyful memories while growing up with each other, they went ice skating together, which ended in all of them getting grounded, bowling, and sneaking out of their room in the middle of the night for a snack, causing them to all get caught as well. They all watched each other grow, forming an unbreakable sibling bond, he was a great big brother to both of them and would protect them no matter what. Fernando, who played a father figure in his life, taught him many life lessons, as well as teaching him to be responsible by giving him his first job at MVP’S, joining the family legacy. They had a great son-father bond. With that, his family formed. As a family, they would go on trips to Big Bear, Palm Springs, and Arizona. Going to the beach late at night to eat burgers. Ghost hunting at the Queen Mary, snowball fights, he loved bonfires, whether it was at the beach or in the backyard of his home. He loved being home.
Jayven's playful spirit extended to his furry companions. His beloved Koko, whom he treated as his daughter, Kobe, Lola, Gigi, and Benji—were treasured members of his family. Known for his gentle nature, he often playfully nibbled at their ears and ensured they were well-fed by providing food from his job at Mars Inc. A dedicated worker, he quickly excelled there, and his absence was deeply felt. It was at Mars Inc. that he formed a close bond with his coworker Isaac, who became like an older brother to him, welcoming Jayven into his family.
Jayven accomplished many things, lived life to the fullest, and even got to experience meeting the love of his life. Yessenia, they found each other and got to experience true love together. Grateful he was able to have met someone as wonderful as her, who brought out the best of him and lightened up his life. They impacted each other and referred to her as his person.
His humor was one of his greatest gifts—an endearing terrible liar whose smirk always gave him away. He loved karaoke and could recite Nacho Libre word for word. Many nights revolved around playing video games and sharing late-night conversations with friends, where his laughter brought warmth and joy. Jayven also enjoyed his favorite TV shows like Rick and Morty, Everybody Hates Chris, and Family Guy and he had a passion for music, dancing, and working out, often alongside his mother. A proud Long Beach resident, he was known for his “LB” hat and his pro clubs, representing his city with pride.
As we reflect on Jayven's life, we are reminded of the adventures he cherished, the stars he admired, and the love he shared so generously. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and laughter, forever united with his beloved "Papi" and his fur sisters, Bella and Daisy. Jayven loved his family deeply and filled every gathering with joy, truly embodying the essence of living life to the fullest. He was a shining light in our lives and will be forever missed and dearly remembered by all who knew him.
I Am Always With You
In every whisper of the morning breeze,
In every dance of the rustling leaves,
Remember, I am always with you.
In each ray of the golden sun,
In every smile, every bit of fun,
in the quiet stars shining through,
I am there, always with you.
Though I've journeyed to the stars above,
My spirit stays wrapped in love.
In your heart, in memories so true,
I remain always with you
