

Joan Gail Crawford was born in Des Moines, Iowa on August 22, 1943, to Evelyn Fox and Jake Carter. She was the 5th child out of 7. Her siblings Charles Underwood, Carolyn Meyers, Kenneth Miller and Sharon Bowman all preceded her in death. Leaving her sisters Alberta Johnson and Annette Reed to cherish her loving memory. Joan graduated highschool in Des Moines, Iowa. She then married Albert Dean Trumbo. Joan had 3 children. Danney Ray Carter and Orrin Wesley Trumbo preceded her in death. Leaving her daughter Annetta Harbin, her 7 grandchildren, Shamari, Brittney, Brea, Brige, Ernest Jr. (EJ), Breyonna and Bribeya, and son-in-law Ernest Harbin to cherish her loving memory.
After moving to California she continued her education and began to write scripts, novels, and childrens books. After graduating college she worked at Children's Hospital until retirement. During this time she met the love of her life. Her husband, a.k.a. "her baby", a.k.a. "C's", Mr. Elder Charles Crawford. Sadly he preceded her in death April 16, 2022. After 5 months and 28 days they were reunited.
Crawford as family and friends called him, had seven children prior to the marriage. Joan welcomed them all with open arms and loved them as her own. Jacqueline Crawford, Brodrick Crawford and Terry Crawford preceded her in death. Leaving Granada Crawford, Reginald Crawford, Sr., Stanley Crawford, Sr., and Troy (Tammy) Crawford and 18 grandchildren to cherish her loving memory.
Her hobbies were reading, writing, gardening, coloring, collecting teapots, paintings, Bibles, figurines and other knick knacks. She loved shopping, eating "sweet stuff", watching General Hospital, spending time with family, but most of all loading up the motorhome and traveling with her husband "on many adventures".
Joan's health unexpectedly took a turn for the worse leaving everyone in disbelief. A few days later, early in the morning of August 14th, Joan took her last breath. We will cherish every precious moment and loving memory we all had. Joan also leaves behind a multitude of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Live it up in Heaven Joan you will be greatly missed.
