

Born in Calumet City, Illinois, to Francis and Charles Malufka, Joan was raised there until 1958, when she married Stan Wisniewski. Together, they built a life filled with love and adventure, eventually moving to Southern California, where they raised their family and created lasting memories.
Joan was known for her sharp sense of humor and her generosity, qualities that brought joy and comfort to all who knew her. She cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She found joy in playing games with her friends, especially bridge and bunco, where her wit, laughter, and competitive spirit made her a favorite at the table. She also loved participating in social activities with her Red Hat group.
Joan also enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, creating treasured experiences across the years. She attended two Winter Olympic Games, cruises to Alaska, Caribbean, Mexico, and a trip to Hawaii. She delighted in traveling the world, always embracing the excitement of new places and adventures.
She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Janet Grissom ( Dr. Charles Grissom ) , Julie Boertee ( John Boertee ) , and her son Thomas Wisniewski. Her grandchildren Justina Bray ( Arles Bray ), Julian Boertee and Cynthia Grissom. Her great granddaughter Emma Bray and her beloved grand dog Hoolie.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stan Wisniewski, her parents Francis and Charles Malufka and her brother Charles “Bud” Malufka ( June Malufka )
A graveside service will be held at Desert View Memorial Park, Victorville, California, on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
A Celebration of Joan’s Life will be held at Joan’s home at La Palma, California, on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Please join us to celebrate the life of Joan Wisniewski.
Joan’s life was a blessing and she will be dearly missed. Her laughter and love will remain with us always.
