Renee Marie Entrikin, born on October 21, 1955, in Santa Barbara, CA, to Gilbert and Wahneema Entrikin, passed away on December 23, 2024, at the age of 69. Renee was the second oldest of eleven children. She was preceded in death by her parents and five of her siblings, leaving behind a loving family who will deeply miss her.
Renee was known for her vibrant personality and strong sense of family. A true "daddy’s girl," she shared a special bond with her father, Gilbert, which was a central part of her life. Renee’s most profound love, however, was for Barbara, the woman who became her partner for life. They met in a bowling alley in the early 1980s, joining the same team, and after a year of friendship, their connection blossomed into a love that lasted for four decades. They celebrated their 40th anniversary in October of 2024, a beautiful milestone in their extraordinary relationship.
Renee had a passion for bowling, excelling on the lanes with a skill that made her well-respected in the bowling community. She came very close to achieving a perfect score, and was always the go-to person for advice or guidance. Her competitive spirit was matched only by her kindness and willingness to help others.
When she wasn’t bowling, Renee enjoyed creating intricate and beautiful hooked rugs, a hobby that allowed her creativity and patience to shine. But perhaps one of her most beloved possessions was her stunning home bar, a space she took great pride in. It was a place where friends and family gathered, and one that was admired and envied by anyone who had the privilege of visiting.
Renee was also an animal lover, deeply devoted to her three kitties: Jackson, a big and affectionate boy, and two little girls, Brandy and Enya. Her cats brought her much joy and comfort throughout her life.
Renee is survived by her loving partner, Barbara, her five remaining siblings, and a large extended family who will forever cherish her memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to local animal shelters that were dear to her heart.
