December 16, 1971 – March 3rd, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert “Bobby” Nichols, lovingly known to many as “Big Sexy,” who passed away on March 3, 2026, in Apple Valley, California, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on December 16, 1971, in Watertown, New York, Bobby lived life to the fullest until his passing on March 3, 2026. Whether you knew him as Robert, Bobby, or by his legendary nickname, you knew a man who could light up a room and leave everyone laughing. He was a big man with an even bigger heart, and lived life at full volume. He loved fiercely, laughed loudly, and left an unmistakable mark on everyone who crossed his path.
Bobby dedicated 29 years to a career in law enforcement, a profession that reflected his deep sense of duty, loyalty, and willingness to stand up for others. Those who knew him best also knew his playful spirit. He loved pulling jokes on friends and family, keeping everyone laughing, and never hesitated to show up for someone in need, no matter the ask or the distance.
Outside of work, Bobby enjoyed all sports, dirt car racing, trying his luck with scratchers, and living life with a sense of humor and adventure that was uniquely his own. His presence filled every room, and his loyalty to the people he loved was unmatched.
Bobby is survived by his loving mother, Sally Nichols, and was preceded in death by his father, Roy Nichols. He is also survived by his siblings: Susan Aser, Lisa Herbst, Scott Nichols, Jimmy Nichols, Penny Giambrone, Michael Nichols, many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
