

Ruben was born 3rd in line of four children on January 20, 1943 in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico to Eduardo Tovar and Victoria Ramirez. He was a jeweler and watchmaker by trade for most of his life. He also had a love for music, deer hunting, fishing and traveling.
As a young adult Ruben's family moved to Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico where he met his wife, Lourdes Munoz, they married in 1963. Then during the 1970's Ruben moved his family to California in order to fulfill his daughter's dream of going to Disneyland and to better provide for his family. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world.
Ruben wore many titles: husband, dad, brother, son, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who always showed lots of love for his family and friends. He will forever be in their hearts and missed greatly.
Everyone who knew Ruben knew that he was an extremely kind, loving, gentle and peaceful person.
Ruben along with his wife partnered in ministry with Holy Family Catholic Church and eventually became leaders of the Marriage Encounters ministry and training for many years. Ruben is survived by his three daughters Victoria Marin, Lorena Valdovinos and Araceli Reese, his seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, wife and their two sons David and Federico.
Visitation Viewing Service is scheduled on Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 4pm-8pm at Desert View
Mortuary in Victorville, California.
Funeral Mass is scheduled on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hesperia, California with burial and reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ruben's life and share beautiful memories.
