

He was a native and lifelong resident of Vinton and was the owner and operator of BJ's Auto Parts, retiring after 24 years of service. He was a former employee of Dupont Sabine River Works in Orange, TX. Billy was a member of the Vinton Masonic Lodge, Westlake Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Scottish Rite, American Legion Post #208, VFW Post #9854 and was a Korean War U.S. Army Veteran. Billy was a very active public servant through the years, serving as Vinton Chief of Police, and serving with the Vinton Harbor and Terminal District, Vinton City Council, and Vinton Public Power Authority.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Judy Vice of Vinton; three children, Terry Vice and wife, Rosanne of Vinton, Jason Vice and wife, Tammi of Port Neches, Texas, and Rhonda Gragg and husband, Macky of Sulphur; three brothers, Ozema Vice and Johnny Vice of Vinton and Bobby Vice of College Station, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Vice Pruitt and his sister, Nelda Sonnier.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, August 30, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. The Revs. Kathy Fitshugh and Jerry and Margaret Johnson will officiate.
